FOSFORO/BACCO, PORTATORE DI LUCE

Qui, fra gli dei, è dipinto da Vanessa Foschi Bacco, anche chiamato il “Portatore di luce” (Fosforo). Egli è disteso fra due tigri. Ai suoi piedi serpeggia l’edera, che lo protesse dalle fiamme alla sua prima nascita. Sulle sue spalle si avvinghiano i serpenti con cui suo padre lo incoronò. Sulla destra sono le montagne di Creta dove fu allevato da Rea/Cibele sua nonna.

Conduce di notte ritmiche danze. In esse i vecchi si scrollano dalle membra la vecchiezza. I giovani vorticano con selvaggio abbandono, soffuso di grazia, al battito di tamburelli.

BACCHUS, BRINGER OF LIGHT

Here, of the gods, is depicted by Vanessa Foschi Bacchus, also called the light-bringer (Phosphorus) . He’s lying between two tigers. At his feet twirls the ivy that protected him from the flames of his first birth. On his shoulders twist the snakes with which his father crowned him. On the right are the mountains of Crete  where he was brought up by  Rhea/Cybele, his grandmother.

He leads at night rhythmic dances. During them the old ones shake down their age from their limbs. The youngs whirl wildly and gracefully at the tapping of  drummings.
